Updated (Unofficial) Ruby One-Click Installer

Posted by Mike Hodgson on June 30, 2008 at 07:29 PM

Update: The official 1.8.6-27 Release Candidate 1 should now be used instead

I took a few minutes last week and re-built Ruby and the One-Click installer. This installer updates Ruby to 1.8.6p114 including the security patches (thanks Phusion!) from last week. Rake and Rubygems have also been updated to their latest versions (0.8.1 and 1.2.0 respectively).

Please post your success / failure stories in the comments.

Note: This is not an official release. For the latest on the status of the Ruby One-Click Installer for Windows, please visit here or the mailing list.

Hello Mike!

I’ll like you for the time spend building this, which should definitely deserves it’s own post in Ruby-Talk, to answer most of the worries shown around Ruby vulnerabilities.

Even it’s not official release, I’ll welcome you onboard as part of One-Click Ruby Installer project!

Thanks again for your time on this task, which I know is not easy ;-)

Looking forward you join us at rubyinstaller-devel list to work on MinGW project!

Regards,

Luis Lavena
